about
This is the first single from my newest album, Sarabi (coming 2024)i. This song was a product of that grief and I hope it helps paint a picture of what it feels like to long for someone, yet also know it was better to end things than cling to something that wasn’t working.
lyrics
Could we call it luck, was it dumb love
I always want the damaged ones
Ya know how Karma comes then so it goes
And the kindest souls get the busted fun
Too good to be true
somewhere there deep down i knew
I had to cut you loose, you’re not mine to think about, but i still do
The day i let you go it’ll be sweet as apple pie
You’ll be once upon a time
distant memory, warm like honey
Won’t that be nice, to call us once upon a time
I’ve been counting sheep but i can't sleep
You always creep into my dreams
These quiet days are few and far between
but when they come it's like vanilla ice cream dripping the past on me
The day i let you go it’ll be sweet as apple pie
You’ll be once upon a time
distant memory, warm like honey
Won’t that be nice, to call us once upon a time
One day I won’t hold this on my shoulders
Some day soon I’ll be over you
The day i let you go it’ll be sweet as apple pie
You’ll be once upon a time
distant memory, warm like honey
Won’t that be nice, to call us once upon a time
